I like the King James version because it hasnt gone through many changes, and is written elegently, and poetically.

Re: Free Bible to whomever wants one

The King James version of the Bible we have today is actually based on three earlier English translations.

William Tyndale first translated the Bible into English, a process he started in 1592. He was burned at the stake by Catholics before finishing his translation of the Old Testament. His work was taken up by Myles Coverdale and he finished a translation of the Bible into English known as the Great Bible. When Protestantism was suppressed by Mary I after the death of Henry the VIII, the Great Bible was suppressed as well. In 1560 a group of protestants under John Calvin produced an English translation, based both on The Great Bible and William Tyndale's original translation, called The Geneva Bible. Due to political rivalries between Catholics and Protestants, King James commissioned a new translation, based on William Tyndale's 1592 translation, The Great Bible, and John Calvin's 1560 Geneva Bible, to be known as the King James Version, which was first printed in 1611.

The KJV remained more-or-less unchained until the mid 1900's, when biblical scholarship began to increase. It was then scholars saw the need of a new translation for people who speak the way we do, not the way people spoke in 1611, and the Revised Standard Version was produced.

The English Standard Version is based on the Revised Standard Version, its main goal being to be a literal translation of the original Greek and Hebrew text. While all English translations of the Bible have undergone many revisions to produce a Bible as close to the original as possible, the original manuscripts have never changed.

Actually, if I were to defend Atheism, I would state first that the concept of time - as man knows it - is infinite in both directions.

Now, there are theories that the universe is starting to contract (that it is no longer expanding)

So if one was to postulate, you could say the universe would eventually collapse onto itself into one tiny ball - sort of how collapse stars turn into small sphere then explode into gas giants.

Thus the universe will become a ball - so compressed that it will explode in a big bang effect recreating the universe again.

Therefore, there has been explosions in the past and there will be explosions in the future. It is man's limited mind that states there has to be a beginning to everything.

Now, for the question about life, the chaos theory works best.

I belive that something or someone started the Big Bang, but who made it?a who made tho one who made it?

If you belive in a God,you have to ask a question, who made the God?

I like The Bible as a book, but Silmarillion makes more sence then Bible emoticon

I have indeed asked myself who made God. but as the Bible says, He has always been, and will always be. so I'll ask Him how that works when I go to heaven.

So he [sign in to see URL] I already said,I belive that there was someone (I'm not completly atheist) Who made the Big Bang ahd Life but that is the "only" thing he [sign in to see URL] this I belive in Physics.

In one Czech movie a christian asked an atheist if he belives in god

"No,I don't belive"
"Why?"
"No one ever saw him"
"I didn't saw your **** but i know you have it" emoticon
