Work In Progress:

Adreena - Daughter of Ethnea - Paladin of the Holy Light

The girl was born in a lavishly luxourious home in Silvermoon, on a warm summer night, to two proud blood elves.

Ethnea, the child's mother, a fine lady, and a half goddess none the less, was a mage. Eurynomous, the child's father, was a handsome warlock, and a master of the Shadow.

The two gazed down upon their bundle of joy, with glee in their hearts.

They named her Adreena.

The precious bundle had bright, glittering, emerald eyes, and a full head of curly jet black hair, just like her parents.

Over time, she grew into a fine young girl. Blood elf children are known to grow quite rapidly, usually twice as fast as any Human child, however; Adreena appeared to grow even faster than most of her own kind. Her parents attributed this to her godly lineage.

She was admired by all for her beauty and grace, and adored by more for her kindness and loving heart. She often picked fresh flowers in the fields outside Silvermoon for the Innkeepers at the Inn's. They were always greatful, and gave her a small tip, after the placed the flowers in vase's and onto the tables.

Sadly, the peace in Silvermoon was not to last.

On Adreena's twentieth birthday, she was spending the day in Orgrimmar, visiting Wodfuzar, her mothers Godfather and mentor.

Wodfuzar was a tall, elderly, blood elf mage; perhaps the best there was, though he chose, on multiple occasions, not to test his abilites in duels. His excuse was always "Someone could be seriously injured. I wouldn't want to hurt anyone!"

Adreena had grown-up listening to Wodfuzar's stories about the old days, about his and her mother's journey's through the unknown. One of his tales in particular, she had him tell many times.

The tale of her mother's birth.

A tragedy really. Ethnea's mother, Arianna, was a virgin preistess to the High God, in a temple in Silvermoon. She also happened to be the High God's favorite Priestess, which was cause for jealously amongst her peers.

One night, the High God came to Arianna, and laid with her. From their union, Arianna became pregnant with Ethnea.

Arianna couldn't hide her pregnancy forever, and before long, a small bump was growing on her stomach. Soon the questions started and eventually, it could no longer be avoided.
When they discovered what had happened between Arianna and their God, the jealous priestess's went into a fit of rage. They said that Arianna had defiled their temple by dishonoring her vow of everlasting virginity. Of course, that was only an excuse, and they were truly maddened that their god had not chosen them instead.

In fear of the anger within her peers, she packed everything she could manage to carry and attempted to flee the city. Sadly, the others would not allow her to simply leave, and chased after her. They screamed obscenities at her as they ran behind her. At first only some flung stones at her, but more joined in, and it wasn't long before one landed on Arianna's head, fracturing her skull.

Arianna fell, lifeless and limp, to the ground.

In the distance, a crash of thunder echoed through the sunlit sky. Clouds quickly began rolling in. Rain began to fall heavily on the stones underfoot, a great gust of wind rose up and blew away tents, carts, anything that was not secured. Elves all around rushed for shelter, some being injured by flying debris, others thrown against the city walls.

A break in the clouds, the rain and wind stop, and the sky clears.

Wodfuzar was walking towards the corpse of Arianna. Some of the injured elves were starting to come around, the town surrounding them now in shambles.

One of the dazed elves watches the tall outline of Wodfuzar. He hears him whisper a chant over Arianna's body. As the elf gets his focus back, he sees a smile cross Wodfuzar's lips, as the mage pulls out a sharp dagger, and slices into Arianna's pregnant belly.

In horror, the injured elf turned away, unable to watch. When he turned back however; the tall mage was ripping a piece of his cloth robe off, and wrapping it around a small, fragile, baby girl.

He adopted and raised Ethnea, caring for her day in and day out from that day. They have many tales to be told, sadly, those tales will have to wait.

Adreena swallows her bite of roasted clefthoof, and takes a swig of her moonberry juice. She is listening to a new tale that Wodfuzar has to tell,
while they eat lunch at the Orgrimmar Inn.

Excited whispers being thrown back and forth by groups of people forming outside the bank, caught her attention. Adreena arched her head, tuned out Wodfuzar, and with her large blood elf ears, listened closely to the babblings around her. News of the scourge was to be overheard through the din. Whispers of devastation.

Adreena tried to listen closer.

"The scourge have invaded Silvermoon!" she managed to discern.
"Hardly anyone left alive..."
"The city is in ruins!"
"The land is scarred beyond repair."

She jumped up, hopped over the table, and out the inn, Wodfuzar hot on her tail. Outside, she turns to Wodfuzar with a pleading look upon her face. The elderly mage takes a pouch from his belt, and from the pouch he draws out a rune of portals. "We must get there! Oh please Grandfather, please, I beg you, please. Not my family!" Adreena thought frantically. Wodfuzar began to chant in the strange language Adreena's mother often used, when conjuring a portal, and soon, a portal to Silvermoon appeared at Adreena's feet.
